Good Afternoon,
It has been a busy week! Sorry I am very short on time today. The work in our area is slow but I think we can turn that around. We have a baptism coming up this weekend and I think it will go great. The members are starting to warm up to us and we have already noticed a big change since when we arrived bouta a week agooo.
This past week we had Mission Leadership Council (MLC) and it was an amazing experince. It really changed the way I look at the mission and the work. Tuesday night all of the Zone Leaders from all around Fiji went and did a session together in the Temple. Afterwards we went to the Mission Home and had a little snack while we had a Q&A session with Elder Johanssen of the Area Seventy. It really opened up my eyes to hear the things he had to say. Hearing his stories about the Apostles was crazy. It was a very spiritually uplifting night. The following day we all met back at the Mission Home for a meeting. We discussed the Lords vision of the Fiji Suva Mission and what it would take for us to get there. We set our zone goals of converts we want to bring in during this next 6 week period. For us, The Suva Zone, we felt that 13 saints would be good. I learned so much from this meeting. Being able to be in a room filled with such good missionarys was awesome.
We got rid of our bed bug problem. 90% sure. Our car's alternator broke this week and to get it to the shop we had to jump start it. The cables werent long enough though so we had to connect a series of cables to get it done. Was very sketchy the way it went down. Also very surprised at the amount of people in the mission who don't know how to change a tire/ jump start a car. Reminds me of what my mom used to tell me. " Common sense isn't so common."
The work is amazing out here. Suva is great! My companion makes everyday an adventure. He has shown me that we can work very hard but still have fun along the way. I am so grateful and excited for the next couple weeks.
