Time is Flying! - 7 Apr 2017
Just got news about the attack targeted at Syria. Nervous to see how all of this will turn out. It's starting to really feel like these are the last days. Elder Holland was speaking in Conference of how the world turns to guns to settle disputes. What the world needs is peace, which is best provided and taught through the Gospel. Hope everyone has their food storage all set and ready.
Can't believe I am just about halfway through the MTC. It has been going by so fast and I can barely account for each day. The bond among our zone of Elders continues to strengthen each day. Truly a genuine group of Elders. We go to the temple every Friday and we have found this to be a great experience every time. This week we got Elder Gaba his first quad set of scriptures. He said he's wanted one for many years now. Yesterday I took them in to get "Elder Gaba" printed on the front. "Wow" is his usual go to response for all these new experiences and items. We all get a good laugh out of it.
This week we had Elder Palmer from the Quorum of the Seventy come speak to us. Same one that spoke in General Conference. He gave a great message which I just can't quite recall at the moment... But Elder Rasband I think it was gave a great talk at conference on how we need to always act on the first prompting. Don't be hesitant. 9/10 times we are right, and that will only get greater with practice of recognizing the spirit.
I am starting to realize how much I am going to miss the MTC. It's going to be tough waking up at 6:30 AM and then not having a warm breakfast waiting for me. Same goes for lunch and dinner. However the quality of the food can't match what's waiting for me out in Fiji. I had a really tough time the other day in class. Felt a bit behind in my Fijian and it really got to me (almost drew tears). Took me a couple hours to again realize I am on the Lord's time not my own. I shouldn't care whether or not I am getting the language. I just need to make sure I am putting all I got into it and that's all I should be concerned about. Last night was TRC, we taught and talked to actual people (not actors) for 20 minutes each who would only speak Fijian with us. I surprised myself when I was able to start pulling certain words and phrases from the back of my mind. My tongue was surely "loosed". They all said I was good with the accent and had really good pronunciation. They seemed to be honest not just being nice. Exactly what I needed to hear.
Every day we are finding a way to better ourselves and get closer to exact obedience.
Obedience brings blessings, exact obedience brings miracles.
Incase anyone wanted to make my day with a little letter or package. :)
