The Countdown (10 days) - 21 Apr 2017

Happy Easter!

Hope everyone enjoyed themselves!  We did here at the MTC.  Got to sleep in to 6:25 AM.  We had a 10 AM devotional, and the speaker usually isn't announced until we're there.  Due to the amount of security present we figured it was going to be someone big.  Eventually, after looking around in the audience I could pick out Elder Dallin H. Oaks walking around shaking the hands of the Missionaries.  Both Elder Oaks and Sister Oaks gave great talks.  Had some great seats as well which made things a bit more exciting.  That night another talk from Sister Dew was given.  She said one thing that stood out to me.  When studying the Gospel, "Questions are good, it means we are seekers, not doubters."  Good thing to remember.  Tuesday night we heard from Elder Juan A. Uceda from the Seventies.  He gave a great talk on how we need to be disciples of Christ and must help others become disciples.  So when we as missionaries aren't there they continue to have their own relationship with God.

An Elder Tuilosega and I decided it would be fun to make a little Easter egg hunt for those who have never been fortunate enough to participate in one.  Thankfully Moms from around the zone sent in plenty of eggs so we took those and hid them all around the floor of our residence.  Always fun hiding them.  Then we got Elder Sablon from Vanuatu and Elder Gaba some bags.  For 3 minutes they raced around to see who could collect the most.  It was hilarious watching them.  They were really moving, and in doing so missied a ton of the easily hidden eggs.  Elder Sablon walked away with a Win that night.  Was very uplifting for all the Elders in our zone to watch the whole thing.

For me this week has once again flown by and I am patiently awaiting my 16 hour with one layover flight to Fiji.  My knees are already hurting thinking about it.  There was a famous Rugby player, Tim Amai, who served in Fiji and died in a car crash just a month after his mission.  They made a short film on his Father going back to Fiji and meeting all the people he taught and converted.  All the Fijians were crying and showing so much love.  Not because of who he was, but due to the great missionary work he put forth there.  Had me in tears seeing the love these Fijians have.  I can't wait to be out there!   I am doing well and am really starting to get Fijian down.  Definitely need to be better but that will come with time and practice in Fiji.  Excited to buy and wear my first Sulu as well!

Have a great week everyone.
Love,
