Happy Father's Day - 18 Jun 2018
Yadra Vinaka Wekaqu!
I wanted to start out by wishing a Happy Fathers Day to Grand Allen, and my Dad! Isa Tamaqu.
My Dad and I have an interesting relationship which I am very grateful for. He's taught me so many things about life, and is a fair contributor to who I am today. The memories are plentiful, whether they be good or bad I have learned from them all and wouldn't want to change any of them. My Dad is one of the best golf players out there, and is a very wise man. I have always enjoyed his company and all of his stories. I know he hasn't heard it as many times as he deserves or needs it but, I love you Dad. I am thankful for all the great times we've had together.
This week has been great. We were able to help Aporosa and his son Abraham enter into waters of baptism. It was a really moving experience for Elder Zenas and I. Aporosa has been a long time investigator but never was able to follow through with the inner desire to join the church. This past Sunday we watched tears fall from his face as he was confirmed a member of the church.
Today we went to the Suva Temple. It was my first time being able to go to the Temple here in Fiji. It was a great time. Very peaceful and a much needed meditation session.
We are continuing to find all these wonderful people to teach. Emma, 24, is a girl we found two weeks ago. We went back to teach her a couple days ago and once again she broke into tears as we taught her. She says she knows what we teach is true. Seeing someone with such a strong desire and acting on it is amazing to witness. She is the ideal "Golden Investigator" that we missionaries are now and then blessed with.
I love my work here in Fiji. It is very tough but very rewarding.
Have a great week everyone.
Kalougata Tiko
Love,
Elder Richardson
