E dua tale na macawa - 6 May 2018
Bula Vinaka Waikaqu,
It has been another good week out here in Naulu. The weather has been cooling down and is making walking everywhere a bit more enjoyable. Not too many things that stood out this week. We had exchanges and I was able to go visit Makoi, our neighboring area. It was a great time. I was working with Elder Hunt for the day who is from Samoa. We saw their investigators and explored the area. I realized how many great areas there are in the Fiji, Suva Mission. I am always a bit nervous to go to a new area because I want to be able to love the place I serve in. After being in Makoi for a day it brought some reassurance that just about all the areas out here in Fiji are great.
Last night we went to visit one of my favorite investigators, Samuela. He is Routman (Rotuma is a island way north of Fiji). We have been teaching him and his family for 3 weeks now. They're some of the best investigators I have had thus far on my mission. Every time we visit we are given a plate of fresh fruit after our lesson. Last night Samuela accepted our baptismal invite and afterwards told us it was "fate" that we came to his house. Hearing that really uplifted me. It reminded me of the reason why I came out here to serve a mission. Hopefully Samuela, his wife, and 3 kids will continue to progress and keep their commitments.
Loving the work and the people in Naulu,
Hope everyone back home is doing well,
Love,
Elder Richardson

Makoi bus rides. The apparel of the people alone gives off some good island vibes.

Fried fish, Fijian sweet potato, boiled chicken, rourou (boiled dalo leaf), and Tavioka... Sunday lunch done right.

Walking home after a long day. The moon in the back looked nice. The city spoils the scenery yet again.
